Anesthesiologists plays a vital role in the treatment of surgical patients. They are there to ensure the patient don`t feel much pain before, during and after the operation. Therefore, anesthesiologist is a physician who is professionally trained in anesthesia and other perioperative medicine. It is their work to administer anesthetics during the surgery process and also administers them during other critical medical procedures. They are the ones who make most of the critical decisions during the surgery. Anesthesiologists are not common in many hospitals as they are not like other physicians. They are very rare to find and they are only called upon to administer special procedures. One must have a competent certification to be an anesthesiologist. You must have completed a premedical program at an accredited institution. Before joining these schools, students are required to pass the Medical College Admission Test in order to be approved as students in those schools. The programs are usually very vigorous and four years in length. They students then go for an intership which is a period of one year. After concluding the intership program, you are refered to anesthesiology resident where you have to complete a period of three to four years. Some residents will add one more here of study which is called a fellowship and it is compulsory. During the fellowship program critical care, obstetric, and neuroanesthesia are done through with. At the residents student should work hard to be certified. Upon completion, one ia allowed to enter the medical practise. It is this tough requirements that make an anesthesiologist job one of the best and high paying jobs. They are also among the respected hospital staff.
